Aspiring IT Professional

A little about me!

Technology has always fascinated me, but what excites me even more is helping people use it with ease! I am working toward becoming an IT Professional who brings patience, clear communication, and reliable problem-solving to every user I support. I love learning new skills and improving whenever I can.

Project(s) I'm currently working on

In my home lab, I am building a personal environment to practice system administration, networking, and monitoring:

  • Virtualization with Proxmox- I built and configured a Proxmox hypervisor to run multiple Windows and Linux virtual machines(VMs). This setup allows me to experiment with server configurations, software deployments, scripts, and troubleshooting in a controlled environment.

  • Monitoring with Raspberry Pi 5- I deployed a Raspberry Pi 5 as a lightweight monitoring node, using Grafana and Prometheus to track system performance and resource usage across my VMs.

  • Networking and VLANs- I configured a managed switch to test VLAN segmentation, basic networking setups, and remote access workflows. This hands-on experience has strengthened my understanding of network architecture and security practices.

  • Cluster multiple mini PCs to experiment with distributed computing and high-availability setups.

  • Implement OPNsense for advanced firewall and network security testing.

These upcoming additions will allow me to deepen my understanding of storage, networking, and infrastructure management, preparing me for more advanced IT and help desk challenges.
